In today’s world, children are growing up behind screens Mobile phones, tablets, and games have become an inseparable part of their lives. But there are some who ask — are we forgetting the world inside their hearts and minds?
A few students from Gujarat Vidyapith tried to find an answer to this question.
Their project, “Sneh Sparsh Over Gadget Sparsh” (The Touch of Affection Over the Touch of Gadgets), carries a simple yet powerful message — love and human connection matter more than gadgets.
Just think — a child comes to school every day but cannot express their emotions. Slowly, stress and loneliness surround them. But if someone sits beside that child, listens, understands, and gives affection — how much difference could that make?
This project does exactly that. It doesn’t just focus on academics but teaches children to understand and share emotions. Through small activities, games, and stories, it helps children reconnect with their inner world. The greatest strength of this initiative lies in people — teachers and parents.Their small daily actions — asking a question, telling a story, offering a kind smile — can transform a child’s world. It shows that along with technology, human touch and empathy are equally essential.
The project was tested in five schools in Ahmedabad. In four of them, noticeable improvement was seen in children’s behavior and mental well-being. This proves that when children receive guidance filled with love and understanding, real change is possible.
In the Solve 2025 competition, this project won the top award. Among 50 participating teams from across Gujarat,“Sneh Sparsh Over Gadget Sparsh” proved that even a small idea can spark big change.
This is not just a message for children but for the whole society —No matter how advanced technology becomes, nothing can replace human affection and understanding. Small steps — a question, a story, a smile — can bring great transformation in a child’s world.
And that’s exactly what “Sneh Sparsh Over Gadget Sparsh” teaches us.
Because within every child’s smile lies the true magic of change —
all it needs is a touch of love.
